On what can be only described as a beautiful January Saturday morning at the glorious seaside setting of Seafield, it was great to have a challenge match versus our friends from Whitehall Colmcilles this early in the year.
We went into the game asking the lads for a performance across the two pitches despite been down a good few numbers because of 1st year entrance exams taking place across a number of local secondary schools.
On pitch one our lads really delivered on that performance from early on and as it transpired, it became a bit or a rout with our lads not conceding a score in the entire match.
With no subs we had no choice but to bring Cormac out from goal and play outfield and did well when asked.
There will be sterner tests ahead this year but was great to get the feel for the ball again and land a deserved victory.
On pitch two, our lads played out a close encounter and came up just short despite having no subs as well to a team with plenty on the bench. Everyone put in a great shift and it was great to see red faces and smiles afterwards having known that they put their strong Dublin opponents to the test.
Each player put in a shift across both pitches and they all wish Noah a speedy recovery from his injury in the second half.
